San Diego International Airport

San Diego is one of the largest cities of California and consequently of the US. Situated in the coastal regions of southern California the city brims with life offering a wide platter of attractions alluring tourists far and wide. The most important aviation hub in San Diego is the San Diego International Airport, also known as Lindbergh International Airport. Apart from being the primary commercial airport the airport has one of the busiest single-runway airports in the nation after the Gatwick Airport in London which tops the chart.
The San Diego International Airport registers over 600 departures and arrivals and experiences almost 40,000 passengers daily with the annual figure touching almost 20000. The foundation of the airport took place on August 16, 1928, christened after the eminent Charles Lindbergh who started off the first solo transatlantic flight. The airport is a distinctly certified airfield to serve all aircraft types, including seaplanes and also functions as a testing facility for several early U.S. sailplane designs. There are almost a count of 29 airlines that fly to 55 destinations across the boundaries including United States, Canada and Mexico just to name a few.
