Belmont Park is a major tourist attraction in San Diego, California. Complete with shopping centers, restaurants and recreational complexes, Belmont Park offers an array of services to meet your each and every wish and make for a memorable family outing. Once an abandoned amusement park located between the bay and Mission Beach boardwalk, today Belmont Park boasts of innumerable visitors not only from America but also throughout the world. One of the most popular rides at the Belmont Park is the Giant Dipper. Basically a wooden roller coaster, the Giant Dipper covers more than 2600 feet of track and goes uphill and downhill over 13 hills for that exhilarating riding experience. However, as per the rules, people who are not at least 4’2” tall cannot take a ride on this wooden wonder. Built in the year 1925, this is one of the few old-fashioned roller coasters in the US. It is also worth mentioning here that due to this roller coaster, Belmont Park was listed in the national Register of Historic Places.
