Coronado Island

Spread across an expanse of approximately 7.4 sq miles, Coronado Island is a very beautiful place in the city of San Diego. A bridge named San Diego-Coronado Bridge connects the Coronado Island to the city of San Diego. On the other hand, the State Highway 75 connects Coronado Island to the Imperial Beach on the south. A small ‘island’ town, Coronado houses the Naval Base Coronado along with the Naval Air Station North Island. Also, the Naval Amphibious Base is situated in, where training for the elite SEALS takes place.

If you are looking for a change, then downtown Coronado is the place for you. With a number of shops and restaurants, Coronado provides the perfect location to freak out along with friends and family members. Cheap yet classy hotels and restaurants are available throughout the place which makes for a comfortable and memorable stay at the place. Adding to the attractions is the beach of Coronado where you can have a whale of time along with your near and dear ones.

In an attempt to improve the overall situation of the place and give it a total makeover, many capital improvement projects are in the pipeline. When it comes to entertainment, Coronado has the Glorietta Bay Civic Center and Promenade to serve the purpose. Furthermore, these centers have come up with a new Community Center and a City Hall along the shorelines and are accompanied by parks. Coronado also consists of a city library which is undergoing expansion plans at present.

Coming to leisure activities in and around Coronado, one can indulge in the magnificent 18 hole golf course, the Municipal Pool, the tennis courts or the 15 miles of dedicated bike and rollerblading pathways. For the literary inclined people, Coronado offers two live theaters to provide some food for thought.

So if you are planning to visit San Diego in the coming days, then do visit Coronado for an overwhelming experience.
