Long time back the beach was named as False Bay. Later on with the passing of time, the name got changed to Mission Bay. Mission Bay has all the facilities of entertainment right from fun in a boating cruise, water skiing, wind surfing, jet skiing, rowing and swimming. The Bay has facilities for boat anchoring and launching.
To go for cruise on the river, a sailboat has to be rented. A cruise along the beach or bay by bicycle or motorcycle is another added attraction. Those who are willing to organize picnic or have fun on the beach, will have a good time on the sandy beach of Mission Bay. If the children willing to have a fun at the Bay, then the best and safe place to enjoy is Tecolote Shores. This Tecolote Shores is quite far away from Mission Drive. There is also another special facility available in Tecolote Shores is that it is concerned towards the handicapped children.
Mission Bay provides various other facilities for the tourists. A special place is provided to the picnic goers. Other amenities provided are barbecues and relaxation rooms for the regular and the first time visitors. There is also facility of bath showers, which gives the visitors a new life, and freshness of mind and body. Parking around Mission Bay is not chargeable. The maximum tourists enjoy near the swimming beach. The best time to visit the Mission Bay is prior to summer season. At that time turnaround is less, the tourist can enjoy ill at ease.
